On Lethargy

Inertia can often be our greatest enemy.  It is during the process of translating thought into action that inertia, or lethargy, can be most corrosive to our progression and ultimate success.  Lethargy doesn’t always solely deal with the physical body’s fatigue, though that is the manner in which it intially manifests itself.  Lethargy is actually a form of recalcitrance that keeps us from putting ourselves into the situations of life that are most efficiently going to lead us to a sense of purpose, mission, destiny, fate, whatever you want to call it.  Mental, emotional, physical and spiritual fatigue, hopelessness, doubt and aimlessness are the most serious factors (in my experience) that have kept me from getting to where I want to be.  I have found that merely ‘showing up,’ putting myself into the various equations and situations of life, makes the maximizing of opportunities more likely, and indeed creates more opportunities in the process.  It doesn’t always happen this way; but more often than not I think success is ‘being in the right place at the right time.’  For one reason or another, persistence is often rewarded with synchronicity.  And doubt is never rewarded.
